Will Harris has led the design of a broad range of institutional, corporate, and residential projects in the US and abroad.  Over the course of his thirty-year career as a landscape architect, he has worked in twenty states and several countries including the UK, China, Japan, and Mexico.  

Will has been associated with leading, award-winning firms in California, Texas, and New York.  Most recently with The City of New York, he has focused on site planning and landscape design for parks, playgrounds, and public building landscapes.

Previous to his public sector work, he was a senior designer at Hollander Design in New York, primarily leading residential projects in Connecticut, Westchester County, and in the city.

Will was also a lead designer for Thomas Balsley Associates, where he was team leader for the award-winning redevelopment of the Queens, New York waterfront, which includes a master-planned residential community, parks, plazas and riverfront promenades.

Having completed projects in tropical, subtropical, arid, and temperate regions, Will commands an extensive regional design and plant material vocabulary. He has also studied classical architecture and has a passion for the history of landscape and garden design.

Hunts Point Playground

Bronx, New York

A Community Parks Initiative Project of NYC Parks, Hunts Point was one of several park/playgrounds recently re-built to redress long-standing inequities in the parks portfolio. In addition, Hunts Point was sponsored by the NYC Department of Environmental Conservation as a demonstration of the the benefits of a sophisticated stormwater runoff management system.
